About the Role

We're looking for a strong generalist Software Engineer to join our early team at Autumn Labs. You'll help architect and build core systems that ingest, process, and visualize data from real factory environments. As one of our first technical hires, you'll collaborate directly with our founding engineering team to shape product infrastructure, engineering culture, and technical standards.

This role is in-office, as early collaboration benefits from low-latency feedback and tight iteration loops. You'll play a foundational role in delivering a reliable, scalable analytics platform for modern hardware manufacturing.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain backend services for ingest and analytics
• Design APIs and data models that power customer-facing dashboards
• Work across distributed pipelines to support high-throughput data flows
• Collaborate with design and product teams to deliver performant features
• Help establish internal tooling, dev workflows, and CI/CD practices
• Debug complex systems and improve infrastructure reliability

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in backend or full-stack engineering
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or Go
• Familiarity with modern data infrastructure or event pipelines
• Strong system design fundamentals and attention to performance/scalability
• Experience working cross-functionally in small, fast-paced teams
• Interest in working on real-world operations problems that intersect software and hardware

Bonus Points

• Experience with event-based or telemetry data systems
• Prior work in analytics platforms, observability tools, or time-series processing
• Contributions to internal dev tools, monitoring systems, or operational automation
